Farmhouse Aesthetic Swimming Pool Ideas
Summer is here and swimming pools are one of the best ways to make the most of hot sunny days. Whether you already have one or are looking to add one to your home, a farmhouse aesthetic swimming pool is a great way to tie your landscape design together and create a relaxing retreat for you and your family.
Farmhouse swimming pool ideas can be found in many forms, from traditional to modern. However, all of them incorporate seamlessly into the landscape design and feel like an extension of your home. Some of the key characteristics include natural-looking materials, an integrated water feature and a unique shape that makes it stand out from other rectangular pools.
Farmhouse Aesthetic Swimming Pools: Combining Rustic Charm with Luxury
The circular pool at this modern farmhouse was designed to play off of the wave-like shingles on the showstopping roof and add an element of whimsical beauty to the landscape design. Nikki Turner of MG Architects also prioritized deep seating, overhead shelter and vision on both sides of the pool house to maximize the sense of connection with nature and the surrounding vineyards. She clad the exterior of the pool house with Axon cladding from James Hardie, which complemented the farmhouse aesthetic while offering the durability of timber and a low maintenance finish.
For this modern farmhouse, the designers wanted to create a pool that would be accessible to kids and adults alike. To accomplish this, they chose to install a series of concrete steps in varying depths around the edge of the pool. The steps visually draw the eye towards the water and help to guide swimmers into the deep end.
